Hello friend, and welcome to Empowered Faith Media, where we share the perfect love of Christ in an imperfect world.

Life gets loud. When your heart feels spiritually dry or distant, this free guide, Miracles in Everyday Life , helps you reconnect with stillness, celebrate life, Scripture, and God’s voice.

The Bible tells us that we should walk humbly with our God (Micah 6:8). But if I’m being honest, I don’t always do that. Sometimes I let life’s chaos push me into thinking I have to stand on my own two feet and handle everything myself. I convince myself that my plan is better, that I can fix it faster, that I don’t need to wait on God’s timing. And each time I let fear or anger guide my direction, I’m reminded, often painfully, that humility isn’t about weakness. It’s about surrender.

When I Forgot Who Was in Control

Not long ago, I was struggling with a situation at work that tested my patience and pride. I wanted to prove I was right, to make sure my voice was heard. In the process, I ignored the quiet whisper in my heart urging me to slow down and respond with grace. When everything fell apart, I felt embarrassed and convicted. I had forgotten that humility before God means trusting that His way is better than mine, even when I don’t understand it. That moment taught me a lesson I’ll never forget: pride blinds us, but humility restores our sight.

Lesson 1: Humility Begins with Trust

Humility starts when we acknowledge that we don’t have all the answers, and we don’t have to. When we stop striving to control everything, we create space for God to move. Trusting Him doesn’t mean we stop working hard or showing up; it means we surrender the outcome. In your daily walk, that could look like praying before making big decisions, pausing before reacting in anger, or simply saying, “Lord, I don’t know what to do, but You do.” True humility is found in quiet confidence, not self-reliance.

Lesson 2: Humility Shines Through Service

Humility isn’t loud. It shows up in small acts of kindness, in listening when we’d rather talk, in serving others without seeking recognition. The Christian women who’ve mentored me have modeled this beautifully; they lead by example, not ego. Whether they’re serving in church, caring for their families, or helping a neighbor in need, their humility radiates strength. When we serve others, we reflect Christ’s heart and remind the world that love is greater than pride. One of the things my aunt Maggie and grandma Leona did was to visit the women at our church. I brought them a plant, and we talked and prayed with them. It was wonderful to see how this little act of service uplifted our church community.

Lesson 3: Humility Strengthens Our Relationships

It takes humility to admit when we’re wrong, to apologize first, or to forgive when we’ve been hurt. But these are the moments when God’s grace shines brightest. In our families, workplaces, and communities, humility invites healing and unity. It reminds us that we’re all works in progress, growing under the same grace. When we choose humility, we build bridges where pride would build walls.

Bringing It All Together

Humility before God is not about thinking less of ourselves; it’s about thinking of ourselves less. It’s the daily act of saying, “Not my will, but Yours be done.” When we approach life with that posture, we open the door to peace, wisdom, and divine strength. So today, let’s commit to walking humbly, listening more, trusting deeply, and serving others with love. Because in humility, we find freedom.
