Hello, my sister, and welcome to Empowered Faith Media.
Where we share the perfect word of Christ in an imperfect world, I’m Renee, and I’m so glad you’re here today because we’re diving into something that might sting a little, but I promise it’s coming from a place of love and growth.
Let’s talk about how we represent Jesus.
Are We Giving Jesus a Bad Reputation?
My First Lady once told a story about sharing a joke at work. Everyone laughed except one person. That person later said, “I never thought I’d hear you tell a joke like that.” And whew, did that moment hit home. Because haven’t we all been there?
I remember a day I said, “The Lord is going to visit me today,” because I had used some very colorful language to describe a coworker who had pushed me to the edge. I laughed it off, but the Holy Spirit didn’t. He gently whispered, “That’s not funny.”
Our Christian walk isn’t a garment we put on Sunday morning and hang back up on Monday. Christlike behavior is not a weekend outfit; it’s the wardrobe of our lives.
We are His representatives. And like it or not, people are watching.

4 Ways to Represent Jesus Well in Daily Life
👗 What Do Our Clothes Say?
Hey sis, let me start by saying I am not the fashion police. I’ve worn questionable daily outfits (haven’t we all?). So this isn’t about shame; it’s about awareness.
We live in a time when modesty is often misunderstood. Dressing modestly is sometimes labeled as “dowdy” or lacking sex appeal. But hear me when I say: Nothing could be further from the truth. Modesty is not about hiding, it’s about honoring. It’s about reflecting dignity, confidence, and self-respect.
Like it or not, what we wear speaks before we say a word. Our clothing says something about who we are, what we value, and even who we represent.
So before you head out the door, take a moment to check the mirror, not just for style but also for message. Am I honoring God with my appearance? Am I dressing in a way that aligns with my faith and purpose?
And don’t worry, you don’t have to spend much money to look beautiful, polished, and put together. With a few basics and a little creativity, you can build a wardrobe that works for both the office and brunch with the girls.

Guard Your Words
“Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.” Colossians 4:6 (ESV)
Words matter. Whether it’s a joke, a sarcastic comment, or a harsh truth delivered without love, our words can reflect Christ’s compassion or stain His name. Ask yourself, Would Jesus co-sign what I just said? If not, it might be time to revise the script.
Check Your Conduct
“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16 (NIV)
How we treat people speaks volumes. We send a message when we’re rude in the checkout line, impatient with our children, or gossiping behind someone’s back. The question is: What message is that? Does our behavior draw others toward Christ or push them away?
Lead with Love, Not Judgment
“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:35 (NIV)
We’ve all stumbled. This message isn’t about shame, it’s about sharpening. None of us is perfect, but we are being perfected. Grace and truth must walk together. When love leads, people notice. They may not remember every verse you quote, but they will remember how you made them feel.
Let’s Be Light Bearers, Not Reputation Breakers
Sister, this isn’t about pretending to be perfect. It’s about growing in grace and being mindful of the witness we carry. You may be the only Bible someone reads today. Let your life reflect Jesus in a way that makes people curious, not confused.
